Wellness Program

Paws in Paradise Luxury Resort & Spa is pleased to offer an on-site Wellness Program for the benefit of our guests during their stay, as well as of local pets not using the facility boarding/daycare or grooming services. Dr. Emily G. Martin, our Licensed Veterinarian on staff, and Crystal Lesley, our Veterinary Assistant with 24 years of experience in the field, work closely with our managers to monitor pets for signs of illness or distress, as well as ease any discomfort or injury, and diagnose and treat any illness during their stay at Paws in Paradise Luxury Resort & Spa. Our Welness Program stays in close contact with pet parents and the pet’s regular veterinarian or urgent care facility should additional medical assistance be needed.

Emily Martin, DVM, was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia and has been a practicing veterinarian since 2016, with deep roots in the community and a strong connection to the pets and people she serves. She believes that the best medicine starts with trust, and combined with her calm, grounded presence and warm, genuine care for others, Dr. Martin is a natural at putting both pets and pet parents at ease regardless of the situation at hand.  Prior to her role at Paws in Paradise as an on-staff veterinarian, she was the owner of Springwood Veterinary Clinic, a rural practice where she dedicated her veterinary skills and expertise to providing the utmost compassionate and personalized patient care.

Beyond her stethoscope, Dr. Martin is a devoted mom of two energetic boys who keep her on her toes and her heart full, as well as shares her life with a crew of dogs and two beloved horses. She finds joy on country roads, at bonfires with live music, and sharing laughs and late-night ice cream with the people she loves.
